All About Sherin!

Hello my name is Sherin Kachroo! I am 17 years old and I live in Fanwood, New Jersey with my most amazing family: my mom, dad, and my sister. Currently, I am a rising senior at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. I hope to pursue a business degree in my future life and to study business administration or management. Aside from being a businesswoman, I absolutely love to do musical theatre and could be found singing beautifully and dancing gracefully all around, stuck with a wonderful book in a cozy room, or just hanging out with my friends. When I am not allowed to be a free-bird, I work on my studies and make sure to prepare or practice for school exams (like a very diligent student). I also spend an enormous amount of time with my amazing family. They are my inspiration as every single member always challenges me to be a better version of myself everyday. I hope to continue growing and finding myself as I venture out into the real world!

Hobbies and Interests!

I have a multitudinous amount of activites I enjoy doing and interests of many different kinds!! Below, are my hobbies:

Musical Theatre!-I started doing musical theatre in 6th grade and have been involved in musical productions ever since! My most recent shows include Seussical Jr. as Mrs. Mayor and In the Heights as Daniela with S.T.A.R.S. Theatre, as well as ensemble in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Chicago , and Spongebob the Musical with my high school.
Singing!-Music and singing have been a part of me ever since I could walk. The minute I began to stand up I started singing. I love singing many different pop songs and I also sing Hindi songs a lot at prayers and religious ceremonies. I songwrite a little, creating new songs about my life and experiences. Additionally, I love Broadway musicals and am obsessed with all the shows and their songs! I do not have a favorite because all are spectacular, but my top Broadway musicals are Mean Girls, Hamilton, Legally Blonde, Wicked, and Into the Woods. One of my biggest dreams is perform on Broadway as it is such a huge honor and I absolutely love performing on stage!
Dancing!-I love to dance and I learn an Indian classical dance called Kathak and Bollywood too with my dance academy, Indianica Academy. I have been dancing now for 9 years and every summer an Annual Function is held with a chief guest to showcase all our hard work and talent!
Photography!-Taking pictures is an interest I have and I endeavor to get better at photography. I feel that it is so inspiring how capturing one moment can tell thousands of stories as every picture holds a powerful message behind it. Each photo reminds me of different concepts and I love being able to remember beautiful times I have had.

Accomplishments!

Throughout the 17 years of my life, I have achieved many accomplishments and been awarded for them!

One of my many achievements is obviously graduating elementary and middle school!

Even more, I have been awarded High Honor Roll throughout my freshman and sophomore year at my high school to demonstrate all of my hard work and effort!

Certificates and trophies have obtained in many different areas as well such as my classical dance below!

In like fashion, there are more areas I have been awarded in such as Mathematics and English through Kumon (an after school math and reading program), and singing!

Lastly, I am most proud of my DECA first place prize. DECA is a business and marketing club I am involved in and I have been to DECA states two years now and was awarded the first place prize in my entrepreneurship team decision making event!
